Hydroseeding

Hydroseeding is the most efficient and cost-effective method of growing grass and controlling soil erosion, for reclaiming fields, residential lawns, landfills, large areas, slopes and hillsides, without the need for lengthy preparatory work. The hydroseeding method has been in practice since 1953, when the Bowie Industries company developed the first equipment for greening road slopes.

Over the last 70 years, the technology and materials have been constantly modified. This allows a high quality of work and guarantees better yields compared to traditional methods of lawn cultivation. Hydroseeding is essentially the spraying of a mixture of mulch, grass seed and various additives that provide optimum conditions for seed germination and root formation onto the surface of the ground. The area may be sandy, rocky, uneven, covered with debris or conventional topsoil.

Hydroseeding provides that the roots grow deeper into the soil and prevents lawn (root system) shock that can occur when laying carpet lawn. Hydroseeding also spreads the lawn seed evenly and at the required volume. This ensures a nice and even lawn and there is no need for additional seeding, e.g. of unseeded areas that have not been sown by hand, seed eaten by birds or patches in the carpet due to root shock. With hydroseeding, excellent results are achieved from the first sowing!
